Tree
Of Lights Comes To Broughton
A new
Christmas initiative at Broughton Shopping
Park this year is the “Tree of
Lights”. Members of the public are being
invited to “buy” a light in memory
of a loved one. Their names will go on a
special board that will be displayed in the
foyer of the management block alongside Costa.
This novel fund raising initiative is being organised by the Rotary Club of Hawarden.
Half the money donated will go to Hope House Hospice for Children and the remainder
will be distributed to deserving local charities and individuals.
The lights, which go onto the Broughton Shopping Park Christmas Tree, will be
officially switched on at 4pm on Monday November 26. Present at the ceremony
will be representatives from Hope House, local charities and Rotary.
Also present will be Deeside Rotary, who are organising the visit of Santa and
his sledge to the Park every weekend up to Christmas, also to raise valuable
funds for local groups and charities.

Flintshire’s leading shopping attraction
is already counting down the days to Christmas.
Broughton’s extended late
night offer started on November 19 to 9pm every
weekday and it offers free parking adjacent
to the stores all year round.
“With our new management block
housing the Costa coffee room, 2007 promises
to be the busiest and brightest Christmas to
date on the Park," says
Park Manager, Colin Gilligan. “The
'Tree of Lights' is a real bonus for us this
year, and we are very honoured to be involved
in such a worthy venture.”
He adds: “Our customers
are telling us that with the large choice
of retailers, and easy access and late shopping
every night, they will be making Broughton
their number one Christmas shopping destination.”
In the run-up to Christmas there will be some
unbeatable offers and promotions available
in all the stores. During the Christmas trading
period weekday opening hours are extended to
9pm on weekdays, and 7pm on Saturdays. The
Park is open as normal 7 days a week, apart
from Christmas Day.
