Successful weekend at Broughton for local St John's Ambulance

The Deeside area St John Ambulance division enjoyed a successful weekend’s (2-3 July 2011) fund raising at Broughton Shopping Park, and also had the chance to raise their profile among the thousands of shoppers and visitors to the Park.

Simon Griffiths, the Division’s officer in charge of cadets, describes the valuable work that they do: “Our division consists of volunteers including a large youth section aging from 7 to 18, and adults, who give up their time to provide first aid service to members of the public at events throughout the area.  

“As you can imagine, purchasing their uniforms, running two vehicles and maintaining and replacing equipment can be costly.  Although we charge companies for our services, this alone is not enough to meet these costs. So the help we get from partners such as Broughton Shopping Park is very valuable , and we thank them for all their support.”

The next  St John Ambulance fund raising weekend at Broughton Shopping Park will be 19/20 November, and look out for more details nearer the time.
