Broughton Shopping Park is amongst the safest in the country – and that’s official!
The popular Park - the destination of choice for thousands of shoppers each week – has once again qualified to receive a prestigious Action Against Business Crime (AABC) Safer Business Award for initiatives to cut business crime.
To show his appreciation for the achievement, the Award is being personally presented by North Wales Police Chief Constable, Richard Brunstrom, at a special ceremony on the Park at 12.30 on June 3.
Broughton’s success is being spearheaded by Colin Gilligan, Manager of Broughton Shopping Park, who is delighted to be receiving the award for the 3rd consecutive year:
“We work hard to improve our procedures and vigilance, and I must pay tribute to all our staff for their very positive and ‘can-do’ approach,” he says. “Communication is key to our success and we make sure that all our retailers can share information with each other and that we share that with the police and our other partners to make life as difficult as possible for the criminal.
“This achievement sends out a clear message that crime and anti-social behaviour on Broughton Shopping Park will not be tolerated. The use of Anti-Social Behaviour Orders also means that when we make a prosecution we can also ensure that the person responsible is banned from all stores”
“It’s another commendable achievement from a team who have clearly made crime prevention one of their key performance indicators,” says Richard Brunstrom, North Wales Police Chief Constable.
“Colin Gilligan and his team, together with the Broughton stores, are working proactively to combat crime and anti-social behaviour to make sure that Broughton Shopping Park continues to be a safe environment for people to work and visit. Broughton’s work and its achievements will continue to be at the forefront of business crime reduction partnerships.”
