Broughton Shopping Park becomes Eisteddfod 2007 sponsor

The organisers of Eisteddfod 2007 are delighted to welcome one of the region’s major shopping destinations as a sponsor. Broughton Shopping Park will be sponsoring one of the busiest days at the event, which takes place from 4-11 August in Mold. The Park will also be hosting a number of events during June and July to preview some of the performances and promote the event to thousands of its shoppers.

“We are very pleased to be working alongside one of Flintshire’s major employers and popular visitor destinations, and look forward particularly to the help that they will be providing to promote what promises to be a truly spectacular event this year,” says Eisteddfod Chief Executive, Elfed Roberts.

The sponsorship comes at a very opportune moment for the Park. It has just commenced its second Welsh Language Course for employees of its retailers organised by Menter Iaith (Language Initiative) and the TWF (Language Transmission Project). Park Manager, Colin Gilligan explains:

“We place great importance on Welsh language and culture and that is reflected in the popularity of the Park for shoppers throughout North Wales. We are therefore particularly proud to be associated with the first Eisteddfod to be staged in nearby Mold since the Park opened in 1999.”
