Argoed brings first Dragon sessions to an enterprising end
20 July 2011

Year 9 pupils from Argoed School in Mold displayed a real flair for business as they brought the first phase of the series of 3-day “Young Dragons” enterprise courses at Broughton Shopping Park to an end.

The 20-strong group split into 5 separate teams, and each one had to form a company, choose a product or service, compose a business plan, find solutions to tricky business problems and recommend how to manage finance, personnel, marketing and promotion, as well as source their products and make a profit.

The deadlines that they had to work to spurred them into immediate action, and created an atmosphere of noisy participation as ideas were exchanged, motions argued and plans implemented.  The meeting room in Broughton Shopping Park’s Management Centre soon became headquarters to a whole range of new enterprises that included Jangles Jewellery, Tickerty Boo Travel and Kapou Computer Games.
