National Adoption Week comes
to Broughton
on
5 November
Broughton Shopping Park will host an information unit from North Wales Adoption Service on Saturday 5 November. The public are being invited to learn more about this important and topical subject as part of National Adoption Week (October 31-November 6 2011) and meet experts who can advise them on all the practicalities and opportunities of adopting.
The Service is hoping to recruit adopters, who are prepared to become new parents for children usually aged between 2-8 years old and to sibling groups of 2 or more children. Wendy Thomas, Recruitment Officer for North Wales Adoption, explains:
“Taking on a child or a sibling group is a challenge but it is rewarding and can be a lot of fun.
The North Wales Adoption Service would be ready to support any adoptive family throughout the process and beyond. The children that we are looking to place may have been abused, neglected or rejected by their birth parents. In this case it is best for the child if they are found a permanent new family who can provide a loving, stable home and care for them properly through the rest of their childhood.”
The unit will be located alongside Costa Coffee at Broughton Shopping Park between
11am and 2pm on Saturday 5 November.
Other venues are October 31 – Ramada Plaza, Wrexham (4-8pm); November 1 – Coleg Llandrillo, Rhos on Sea (4-8pm); November 3 – Coleg Menal, Bangor, Friars Site (4-8pm); November 4 – Bull Hotel, Llangefnl (4-8pm).
